Machine Operator Live Receiving Day (Cold Spring, MN)

Position Summary

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Live Receiving Machine Operator is responsible for set-up, operation and maintaining department machine performance to support production needs

  • Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks.  Consistently practices, and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization.

Essential Duties

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  1.  

Checks machines daily making proper adjustment and repairs, minimizing downtime for the entire facility

  1.  

Sets up to start Live Receiving machines and plant on time

  1.  

Initiates equipment clean-up at the end of production. Makes minor repairs as needed.

  1.  

Basic understanding of machine automation such as PLCs and HMIs

  1.  

Requests assistance from the station mechanic and maintenance personnel when appropriate

  1.  

Keep work area clean and picked up at all times

  1.  

Reports any equipment damage or potential mechanical problems to the supervisor or lead person immediately

  1.  

Monitor machines during operations, making minor adjustments as needed to ensure an efficient, quality operation

  1.  

Authorized in LOTO and confined spaces

  1.  

Understands duties and production responsibilities of their line.  Assists team members on the line and helps with training backups as needed.

  1.  

Perform equipment audits at scheduled intervals and when performance dictates

  1.  

Respond appropriately to audit results with machine adjustments, report adjustments and or changes

  1.  

Flexibility to work various shifts and hours

  1.  

Other duties as directed

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Maintenance field experience of two years is  preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including; addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
  • Ability to pass a Prove It test
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate and solve mechanical problems
  • Knowledgeable n electric and mechanical procedures
  • Ability to perform basic computer skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others
  • Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools
  • Mechanical ability to learn required skills
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to be observant and highly responsive
